A U.S. Border Patrol agent used pepper spray Thursday to capture an illegal immigrant wanted on a federal warrant in Amarillo. Spokesman Bill Brooks said the agent, whose name was not released, stopped a van about 11 a.m. on Interstate 40 near the Airport Boulevard exit. The man, whose name was not released, fled on foot west toward Third Avenue.

Clay County Elections Board Chairman Bill Brooks signs off on the results of the Aug. 18 alcohol referendum, certifying the election results and making the passage of alcohol sales official.
